Thoughts : Audition

A glimpse.
23/4/12 Monday
Just before heading to work at 5pm, checked with my phone after reading Sen Chen's twit. UPM audition 26/4/12. WOW. that soon? Spammed Twitter. After work and dinner, head to Chinese Church for pianist training. Shared the news with the peeps. Back home, texted teacher to get the original scores tmr. Teacher was very helpful. Arranged with Wei Kwang to have a short music session. Pending for a long time since our F6 days when I often say I want him to teach me some skills. He got a distinction for ATCL wey, *salute max*

24/4/12 Tuesday
Off to Hin Hua. Got the books. Met teacher's colleague. Got some unexpected insights about the Unis I applied. Drove to Wei Kwang's place. Got lost. Had a fruitful time of learning from the pro haha! Feels good when you just sit and listen then someone plays the piano and violin skillfully~ Very generous of him to share his knowledge and experience.

25/4/12 Wednesday.
Couldn't make it for IKUPM's Easter Aftermath Production. Starbucks Happy hour 50% off promo! :D Tried the new Mocha Cookie Crumble Frap (MCCF=blurblur frap? :P)  *check my instagram ^^*

Of course practice max for all 3 days. It's like eating and sleeping, a necessity

26/4/12 The day, Thursday
Parents drove me to UPM after we dropped bro for school. Was listening to The Afters- Lift me up, can cry wey, something that hits at the right time. Interview time starts at 10am according to the letter. Arrived about half an hour earlier, slightly after Jerald and Wei Kwang arrived. Sat down and chatted. Apparently the interview has begun, perhaps there was a 9 am slot? IDK. Thank God for the warm sun outside. My hands get cold in any air-cond room. No. 10 in the list. To speed up the interview time (I think), the ppl in charge split us into 2 rooms. I was the first to go in the 2nd room, no time to panic LOL!

Went in. Greeted the lecturers, 2 ladies. I have no idea what is their names.
Was asked to show my certs, just music certs. Grade 8 practical and Grade 6 theory ABRSM.
I was asked what I put as 1st choice and 2nd choice in my application. UM was 1st, UPM 2nd.
Asked to play my pieces. I thought Kwang Hua's piano was epic LOL! Played Chopin Nocturne Op 55, played less than 2 pages out of 4 pages then was told to stop. Next piece, Debussy Arabesque No.2, just manage to play 1 page out of 6 pages then was asked to stop.
Went to my seat.
Was asked if I have a 2nd instrument. Nope, just piano.
Asked how long I have been playing. 10 years (on and off at the beginning cuz changed teachers).
End of interview.
Left room.
Whole interview process took 5 mins if not lesser.

Ppl waiting outside was kinda shocked + surprised how fast it was. I walked to the initial room where Jerald and Wei Kwang were still waiting for their turns. Decided to wait for them.
The girl after me came out, her 1st choice in her application was UPM. They asked her what she wants to take up as a major and minor if she gets in. More questions compared to mine.

Jerald first. Brahms and Gershwin. He was asked to play scales after his pieces, F# major I think. They asked if he can jam with chords and wants him to play an impromptu fast piece since his choice of pieces were at a moderate pace. He played Hari Ini (for the win)! :D happy song LOL! The room's interviewers asked loads of questions.
Wei Kwang next. Mozart and Chopin. He played fairly well but when he came out, he said they asked what happened after his ATCL LOL! STPM takes a lot out from us, I'm serious.
We all decided to go for UM's interview so see you all next week =)

What am I suppose to feel? I played like, 2 mins out of my 5 min's Nocturne and that was before the highlight of the piece. For Debussy, I played for like 30 secs. Can anyone actually judge from there? In other words, IF I do get in based on that 3 mins of playing, I feel bad; if because of that I am not qualified to enter, kinda unfair wey, this is confusing @.@

Next, it's not that I prefer UM more than UPM or vice versa, is just that so happen that was my 1st in the application. Both are music. Meaning to say, music is my priority, not really the unis, you get me? I hope that would not be a factor for not being able to get in =(

Like Grade 8 practical is not enough. Like only able to play the piano is not enough. 0 competition experience. STPM result means nothing much as what they want is musical qualification.Should I be slacking my F6 through and just practice max? I don't think so.

Got home, change up, nap, lunch, nap, shower, piano class then dinner at McD with the pals =) A bit insomnia at night.

Thank you all for all the wishes, texts, calls. Appreciate it from the bottom of my heart, it meant a lot =') Thanks for reading such a lengthy post. God bless you!

Seize it

FB status

I'm not that super sensitive but at the right moment, the right person says the right words=> *mind-blown* One in particular during a prayer for family. Words said were:"Do not let anyone look down on your youth" (more or less, something liddet, you know my freaking lousy memory) Mehhhh. I guess being the eldest, it spoke a lot to me. Too young to go hang out with friends, too young to have a hand phone, too young to do this and that. Things do change eventually as I grew older. OLD. Now that it's a few more months til September and I actually have a lot of time thinking and reflecting, I feel OLD I want to do so many things, things that could be ambitious, crazy, fresh etc, just want to widen my possibilities. I never travel overseas without my parents, many times grandma wanted to bring me along to Singapore with her but we're not permitted to do so. I'm not making a fuss about that but I guess I do want a taste of independence. Nope, I've never been to any class trips. Imagine that. That's one of the things that is gonna change soon ;) Seizing it step by step. I trust in God's perfect timing.

Going for an orchestra concert night this coming Friday at Sentul :D
I know right, I get "the look" when I mention orchestra. "The look" as in "seriously? really?" but I'm just being me, I do enjoy orchestras, they give me goosebumps in a good way, listening to it in awe. Kinda like the Piano Guy's Secrets cover. I totally admire those who are in a orchestra or even in a band.

God bless you =)

Warning: A girly post.
Don't judge, wear a wig :P LOL! I'll share the deets here~
Woke at 8am to practice the Chinese Worship songs. NONE of the songs are familiar to me. Came home rather late from DG on Friday night. *zombie-fying* Eil and Yuyu are in town so we made time to meet up. Arrived Eil's house at 10.15am. Due to some miscommunication, Eil and me went ahead for our appointment while Yuyu and Chor have their shopping spree at an online shop's physical outlet LOL.

Some time ago we bought this Mani Pedi package from I love discounts. I barely travel to Puchong so we thought why not have a trip there but as you know, turned out to be a date with just Eil =)
At Loveliness Nail & Beauty Centre. Very easy to find, thanks to GPS. Miscomm again, we made appointment for 2 ppl but turned out to be just 1. So instead of 2 hours there, we spent almost 4 hours in the rather small yet cozy parlor.

Eil still can't make up her mind which colour to choose :P

#likeaboss :P

Colours to pick from.
Nail colour

FYI: We both aren't that pampered/princess-ish, it's our first mani and pedi session believe it or not. We do paint our nails ourselves. Mani and pedi are rather pricey for me as a student if not for the group buying deal. Money doesn't fall from the sky so I do appreciate the things I have.

For RM29 we got:
-Classic Manicure
-Classic Pedicure
-Feet Callus Removal
-OPI Nail Colour
-Free Nail Art for Toenails
-Free Gift (tiny sample of body scrub and lotion)

I'm satisfied with the service :D Won't be going back there as it's kinda far to purposely go there and unless I find another mani-pedi buddy, Eil's leaving for India soon... aww!

Final product :D
I skipped the blings for the other nails cuz it would be kinda complicated, that's what I thought =)

For my fingernails, I went for a sweet pink colour. I know it won't last me long as I trim my nails very often for piano. I like how clean it looks though ^^

Blur me wore a peep-toe flat, should have go in my usual flip-flops. According to the manicurist, it takes up to 3 hours for the polish to completely dry O.O Thankfully Eil has a spare sandals in her car =) After that, we were In a rush to collect Myan's shoes in IOI mall then head back to Shah Alam for teatime with the others. Ended the meet up at Eil's house sorting the stuff we bought. The dress I bought doesn't fit me, it's rather baggy at the sides. *I'm such a stick :/* Gave it to Chor and I'm glad she liked it, can't wait to see her wear it :D She gave me a pretty maxi dress earlier on but I haven't wore it out :P GIRLS! HAHA! <3 Love my dearies.Came home at 5pm then get ready for the Easter Encore Performance at church. What a packed day huh! Waiting for the pics from the event to be posted so I can continue to blog~

What a girly-fied post. Guys, if you finished reading it, I salute you xD
God bless peeps =)

Nail stickers from Seventeen Magazine

Got this for FREE with Seventeen Malaysia April issue. It was The Nature issue so that's why I bought it LOL!
Purple nail stickers from Seventeen mag Malaysia

Very easy to stick and trim. I tried filing it but it didn't file off nicely so I used a lil pair of scissors instead. I seldom paint my fingernails as my fingers are rather pointy and after 2 days, I have to cut my nails to avoid the noisy *clicking* sound on the piano. I have to cut my nails quite deep :( my teacher always ask me to file them but the friction makes me :/ ahh!

Purple nail stickers from Seventeen mag Malaysia

Pretty design :) Some ppl asked about it, thinking I spend a lot of time painting but I just told them "it's Stickers :D" JOY.

HMM. An so-so issue. Expected more Green Ideas though. I didn't read the interview etc. Fashion ideas are ok but if you really want to buy the exact thing displayed, most of them cost a BOMB. I assume most readers are from age 13-20+, the younger ones won't be able to afford that unless they are like, really rich LOL! Just my honest opinion =) Any of my friends who are interested, feel free to borrow this issue from me LOL!

Googled and found this:
What is the most ecologically safe way to dispose of old nail polish?

Lemme know what you think :)

Rejoice, Android users! Instagram is here for us~

Photo editing was good with Camera 360 before Instagram was made available to Android-ers. It has a lot more of special effects compared to Instagram. The things I do like about Instagram is that we can share the pic on other social networks, follow our friends and celebs, like pretty pics. Picture speaks a thousand words =) I have an Instagram Account thanks to my student and my iPhone user friends x)

Easter performance rehearsal on Thursday.
Me and Sis

Good Friday service

Easter Sunday
Flags in church.

Pretty boy Federick getting his makeup done by Auntie May. One of our flag member. Sarah's college mate. Ernest and Johanan's lips were RED. No choice. Stage makeup ma =)

Easter Sunday is beyond bunny and colourful eggs. It's a day to celebrate victory over sin and death because Christ is risen! :D

Saturday, 14th April 2012
Venue: SSMC
Time: 8PM

Jun Lun's Farewell Gathering

Blog debt clearing in progress :X

Back in like, February! :x

The CPs. Eil on the cam. =)

1st venue: At Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1

YUP, we hung out at the BKT restaurant, eat, catchup etc. Just a nice place to spend time, better than just loitering at malls, don't you think? =) Went to Aeon Bukit Tinggi. Watched This means war. Then late lunch at Black Canyon.

Random banana cake that JL likes to eat :D The staff there were friendly and helpful. They helped us to switch off the aircon that was directly blowing on our table and lit the candle =)

All the best in India, CPP! We miss you.

CP's FB group is rather cold~~~ Oh no.

God bless you! =)

Jun Sung Ahn

Stumble upon this
Safe and Sound.

Violin + piano. Suka! :D I watched a Guitar + violin cover of the same song. Honestly speaking? My opinion? I like this violinist's translation/style lol? if that makes sense
Guess what? The next thing I did was to subscribe his channel. He dances too. Do check the vids out at Jun Sung Ahn's channel!
Curryahn sounds like Korean right? =) smart.

Watched it again during Easter Rehearsal. Daniel Song mentioned that it's quite similar to his bro's name, Jun Song haha! Federick was all hyped when he just knew Daniel is Korean, K-pop madness :P

Would like to collab and make some music, covers and/or originals with my musically influenced friends. It would be fun and encouraging, I thought =) My views about Youtubing and even blogging, if all of those are just purely for cash or fame, it's kinda pointless to me. That's why I'm still blogging, why? 'cuz  I just like to do it :D It's a bonus if someone reads it. I get all excited like "you read that xx post? :D" but of cuz if the post was dedicated to a specific person, I'll sorta make them read it? LOL!

God bless peeps, it's Good Friday. A day to remember Christ who laid down his life for all of us while we were still sinners. Amen =)

Mun Yan's 20th birthday celebration

It's like, Form 6 life had been so hectic that I missed a handful of outings and gatherings. Life after STPM? We the most free and easy :P Referring to me and Klin

Closer to our homes

Surprise at 8pm~

Klin requested the waiter to arrange this surprise. No wonder the waiter kept on making rounds and check out our table, he was actually waiting for Klin's signal lol! Good customer service ^^ We sorta "booked" the whole floor, as you can see not many costumers around :P

Birthday day girl

with Klin. Yummy cake made by Klin and her mum~ :9

Straight from my work. flat bangs

We had yummy food. Tomyum soup etc :9 not putting pics here but you can check out my mobile uploads album on FB =) We thought the price was reasonable, had some food to takeaway, full max. Both of us prayed for chor, how nice is that? ;) We went to Giant for some *ahem* aunty-ish shopping xP I have no idea regarding the prices of groceries these days :x Simple yet memorable celebration cum catchup session.

Mun Yan had a 2nd round celebration with high school classmates. They couldn't finish the cupcakes so she dropped by my house, gave me 3 of these pretty looking food LOL.

Another round of outing~
Had lunch at PapaJohn then they head to Pyramid while I decided to go home to submit my uni application. Handmade birthday booklet with all our wishes. Made by Klin ^^

Yuyu is back for holiday!

Oh yea, besides the not-so pleasant experience at Veneeze Restaurant Jaya One, I did enjoy my time with the girls. Some happy pics? =)

At ShareTea Jaya One after shopping~

No pics of me, sweaty max :P :x

Dearies post *hearts*

Latest Vlog. The Hunger Games, Starbucks, and many other random stuff.

So yea, The Hunger Games Movie gang made this vlog. Just cuz you're reading this *hehes*, you get to watch :P Wanted to make this an April Fool thing but PHAILED MAX AIYA! nvm,it was fun editing the vid, got to brush up my skills =) A girl on Twitter who is a Joseph Germani fan found this, watched it and wanted to go watch Hunger Games LOL! random.
FYI: I've been out whole day, woke up, arrived Chinese Church for worship practice at 8.30am, church, Easter Presentation Practice, shower then Starbucks O.O

Yea, join Nuffnang! ;)

Caramel Macchiato~ I thought the Setia Alam's barista brewed this better. IDK what's with the Centro's baristas, usually they are friendly and they make yummy Starbucks but this time =/ Kien Tian's Java Chip looked like Dark Mocha, tasted like Dark Mocha according to Sen Chen AND there was a HUGE ice in the drink! Didn't request for a new drink, just re-blended it.

Me and kehpoh Wendy.
*waves at the other kehpoh ;)*
=3 face? haha

No work this week. Rehearsals, Good Friday and Easter Sunday is up!
RIP Aunty. I followed those email updates about you.
Take care and God bless peeps.
